PHILANTHROPHY

  • OUR ORGANIZATION

    • Jimmy V. Foundation for Cancer Research

      • "Don't give up. Don't ever give up".

Since 2006, Delta Chi’s national philanthropy has been the Jimmy V. Foundation for Cancer Research. It was started by the late Jim Valvano in 1993. Valvano had a successful coaching career at North Carolina State University, notably winning the 1983 NCAA Division I men's basketball title against improbable odds.

The organization has awarded over $200 million in cancer research grants in his honor to support cutting-edge research, such as pharmaceutical side effect mitigation, improving treatment access for certain groups, and discovering the factors behind different patient responses to the same treatment. Our chapter is proud to support the V Foundation and the cancer patients it seeks to help.
